I started out being very active in the theater program at BYU, where I saw a lot of plays, musicals, and dance concerts. The fluid movements to me were like, quite literally, poetry in motion. They were mesmerizing. I painted this sculpture as a nod to dancers and the beauty they create. I was going to name this Dancing Up a Storm, but I realized that I had already named a sculpture that, and it had sold. So I did the next best thing, I named it "Dancing in the Clouds. I love the ethereal nature of the image and the floating, fluid motions that they evoke. This sculpture can be either wall-hanging or free-standing, depending on your preference. |
